Specializing in helping adults create emotional health and wellness
Worried about the income?
Wondering where to begin finding clients?
Anxious about dealing with insurance companies?
Afraid you can’t successfully run a business?
These are just a few reasons that therapists don’t consider private practice.
I want to help you feel empowered to have the work life you’ve always wanted.
One of the best strategies for success as you build your private practice is to be coached by someone who already has a successful and thriving practice. I can help you avoid frustration, save valuable time and make more money, faster than you ever thought possible.
I left a large Community Mental Health agency for private practice in January 2008 and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. Every day, I feel free and empowered to be the best therapist I can be with my clients. I make my own hours and schedules, see the clients I want to see and actually take more time off than I ever did in agency work. I am able to take better care of myself and my mental health in private practice and I am a much more effective therapist as a result.
In the last 3 years, I have helped numerous therapists in the Michiana area and beyond successfully enter and build a private practice.
I offer consultation sessions for any therapist considering private practice. I am in a group practice with therapists from psychology, mental health/addiction counseling and clinical social work. I utilize the knowledge of many therapists’ experience, including my own successes (and failures!) in entering private practice. Whether you are licensed or working toward licensure, I can help you decide if private practice is right for you and where to begin in starting your own practice.

Is there anything more valuable as a therapist than good supervision and support?
Contact me for information on supervision services if…
Effective supervision helps bring you more clients because you are able to provide higher quality psychotherapy. I believe good supervision should build upon the supervisee’s understanding of clinical process and offer alternative up-to-date perspectives on therapeutic action.
Even if you already have your license, you need supervision! Just because supervision isn’t required doesn’t mean it isn’t needed. In fact, working as a licensed clinician without regular supervision/consultation is a quick road to burn-out.
I am passionate about my work as a therapist and I am constantly attending trainings, conferences and obtaining education for the most up-to-date clinical practice methods. In addition, I attend weekly supervision/group consultation with an interdisciplinary team of therapists. This 2-hour meeting is the most important of my week.
I cannot, in good conscience, be a therapist without the self-reflection and clarity supervision provides.
I am able to provide specialized supervision in the areas of trauma, , PTSD, anxiety, domestic violence, sexual assault/abuse, women’s issues and EMDR. Like my counseling style, I supervise from a humanistic, relational perspective with an eye toward increasing skills and actual techniques to use with clients. For a 50-minute individual supervision session, my fee is $90.
If you are working toward licensure, I will slide this fee for you.
Group supervision offers an affordable way to receive consultation at the start of your career. This group is geared to therapists who have just finished a graduate program or who are just starting a therapy practice. We will focus on professional development as well as discussion of cases, ethics and problem-solving. Specific therapeutic interventions, tools and techniques will be taught based on needs of the therapists in the group.
